Mobile OS Usage

Below you can see the from last July to this July’s mobile operating system usage.

You can see that a year ago Apples iOS had the larger market share (43.8%) followed by the Blackberry OS (35.24%). Less used operating systems included Symbian OS (6.79%), Android (5.98%), Sony Ericsson (3.78%), Samsung (1.24%), Playstation (0.78%) and Unknown rounding out the total (1.76%).

What a difference a year makes with Blackberry now clearly the most used mobile OS followed by Apple iOS which has lost around 7% of its market share, the big difference is the huge growth of Android now having 16.5% of the market which is a massive 10% + from last year. With that sort of growth Android could clearly become the most used mobile OS in the UK. The market share up until July 2011 is shown below in text and graph form:
